The Koshirae is of the handachi type with all the match elements in copper, both in the tsuka and in the saya. Tsuba in very old iron. As it differs from the rest of the koshirae it is possible that this one is older and would have been kept for sentimental reasons. It was common to pass elements such as parts, weapons and armor from generation to generation.
