Description Paul Weyersberg, sword within wreath double-oval TM. Nickel-silver hilt fittings show light surface wear/age patina to pommel, upper and lower ferrules and crossguard with no plating remaining on background of the brass pommel and crossguard swastikas. Dark blue leather grip shows surface wear/scuffs/nicks but, no major loss of color, and is complete with tight twisted, triple wire wrap. Plated blade grades EX /EX showing surface wear/runner marks and a few tiny “pecks” to right cutting edge but, no lifting or pitting and no damage to blade tip. The reverse blade is etched with the accountablility number, “3 1 5” and complete with blue leather blade buffer pad but, is not Waffen Amt marked. Blue leather covered scabbard shows surface wear/age but, no rips or tears and no damage to leather seam. Nickel-silver, upper, center, and lower scabbard fittings show surface wear/age patina matching the hilt fittings with a few tiny “pings” to the lower fitting but, no damage to the lower ball. Fittings are complete with five, flush-mounted retaining screws present and reverse upper fitting is etched with the matching accountablility number, “3 1 5”. Early nickel-silver chain hanger featuring 8 upper and 11 lower rings shows light age/wear with portions of factory frosting remaining, and is complete with early unmarked, nickel-silver clip. The connector link on the upper chain appears to have been period soldered and shows age toning. The 23cm aluminum bullion portepee grades EX showing minor wear with slight fraying to cord where it has rubbed against the crossguard. EX
