17th Century Venetian Storta with Turks Head Pommel RESERVED This beautifully crafted and rarely seen Italian Storta from Venice. The sword has a rarely seen Turks head pommel. The kind of swords saw increased popularity and were extremely versatile in close combat. Many such swords were used by Naval troops against Ottoman and Muslim forces. The handle is made of antler and profusely carved with the face of a warrior with bone inserts. The wide blade is engraved on both sides, with a face of a Turks on both sides and astrological motifs such as the moon, sun and stars, it is a fairly well preserved piece for its age and the blade retains the engravings in good condition.
