16th – 17th Century Northern Italian City Guard Sword Sword for foot servants or city guards, Northern Italy around 1500 to 1600, likely Venice. The hilt is fitted with a downward quillon and knucklebow, shell-shaped guard plate with reverse. Thumb ring has had some trauma and has bent slightly. to tie it all together the sword has a pear-shaped pommel. The blade is a fullered double-edged design. Marked on both sides of the ricasso, hallmarked sickle tooth marks and letters “INARIAAI” in the first third of the blade. Specifications: Length 88 cm Blade 71.3 cm Enquire Now
