15th Century Venetian Cinquedea Sword For Study and Research Only! One of the finest pieces in the collection, the cinquedea being the rarest daggers due to their short production span of 100 years from around 1450 to 1550. This sword rarer than other due to its classification being a sword, also referred to as a “dragona a cinquedea”. Similar examples of such sword do exist the most famous being the sord of Caesar Borgia. This particular sword made for the Venetian guard whos role was to protect the Doge of Venice and is in a extremely fine state. The hilt is a typical cinquedea style with iron curved quillons, an iron pommel cap and horn grip with Rosette shaped openings made of brass.
