16th Century Italian Storta The type medieval sword falling under the Falchion / Storta category. This very interesting short sword is a true interpretation of Italian arms, short and fast these swords were designed to have stout curved fighting blades and to be extremely versatile close combat weapons. The hilt is comprised of and all iron construction with iron grip. The pommel and grip are one piece with the pommel shaped like a falcon. The guard is a single down swept quillon and knuckle guard. The blade is curved wide blade with double fuller and the tip is quiet interesting having an upswept point that again curves to the point. The upper section is also sharpened.
